Batch Instruments Creator
Creating new instruments has never been so easy. The new Batch Instruments Creator in Keymap 1.5, lets you create automatically new instruments from samples, either by creating a single instrument for each sample, or by creating instruments with a different sample for each single note.

The instrument creation happens in two distinct steps. As first thing you add samples to the Batch Instruments Creator samples list by dropping sample files and folders on the big Magic Pad. The Samples list will show you all the samples. When you are ready to create the instrument(s), just select the samples in the Samples list, set the various parameters at the top of the Batch Instruments Creator, and press the “Create EXS Instruments” button. You will be asked for a folder where to create the instruments, and that’s all: the Batch Instruments Creator will automatically create the instruments for you.
The “Create one instrument for each sample” checkbox, when enabled, forces the creation of one insturment for each sample. In that case, you can select the Root, High low notes for the sample in the instrument, and its high to low velocity range.
When the “Create one instrument for each sample” checkbox is disabled, the note and velocity parameters let you set which mapping range of the instrument should be filled with samples.
As an example, if the “Create one instrument…” checkbox is disabled, and the low note is set to 60, and the high note is set to 69, then each newly created instrument will contain 10 samples. If the “Create one instrument…” checkbox is enabled, and the low note is set to 60, and the high note is set to 69, then each newly created instrument will contain 1 sample mapped from note 60 to note 69.
The Batch Instruments Creator also lets you choose how the loops should be created for all the samples.
There are four possible settings:

• No loop: no loop is created for the zones
• Loop from sample file: if the sample files contain loop data (start, end), then the loop is set at those settings
• Whole sample file: the loop is set for all zones to the whole sample. This is useful if the samples are already cut at the right length.
• Manual: the loop is set for all zones to the start and end positions specified in the Loop Start/End parameter boxes.
For all kind of loop mode settings, you can set a default loop crossfade and crossfade shape. Once the instruments are created you can load and refine them using the full set of Keymap features.
