instrument building
Keymap Pro is the evolution of the acclaimed Keymap sampled instruments editor targeted to creative sampler users and extends its file support to all the major instrument formats on the market, including Apple EXS24, Native Instrument Kontakt3, Digidesign Structure and Propellerheads Reason 4 NNXT.
In the tradition of Redmatica applications, Keymap Pro incorporates a massive amount of innovative and never seen before features, including multiple playback personalities to match each corresponding instrument format, integrated direct multichannel recording (sampling) also from networked computers with autostart/stop/cut/map/loop, new DSP tools for looping the unloopable, a new resynthesis algorithm for non-harmonic samples, integrated AutoSampling features with AutoSampling Live mode for effortless interactive recording of sounds from sound sources, SoundDesign features for using AudioUnit plugins as synthesis blocks in the playback chain, massively multimode envelopes, dimensional panning, continuous background rendering, and a stunning Core Animation based visual interface.
CoreAnimation-based intuitive User Interface
Keymap Pro uses the newest visual technologies available in Mac OS X to deliver the greatest amount of information to the user when performing mapping functions. Instead of simply showing the result of a mapping function, Keymap Pro animates the transformations.
Important: Format licensing restrictions
Because of the licensing restrictions imposed by the owners of the file formats, Keymap will not open copy protected/encrypted instruments, and can’t be used as a converter between different file formats.
Examples: if you load a Kontakt instrument, you will only be able to save it as Keymap or Kontakt. If you reopen the Keymap project so created (i.e. created by loading a Kontakt instrument), you will only be able to save it back as Keymap again or Kontakt.
If you want to develop sounds for multiple formats, the strategy to adopt is to start from a Keymap project and create EXS/Kontakt/Structure/Reason formats from this master project.

Integrated multichannel recording from audio devices and over network
With the integrated recording section in Keymap Pro you can directly record into Keymap Pro’s instrument matrix, not just from an audio device but also from any computer over your local network or internet using the standard AUNetSend plugin freely available in Mac OS X.
This lets you “tap” the sound from any software that has AudioUnit slots, from any physical location. You can record up to 32 audio channels at once (8 from the network) to create the most ambitious surround instruments and sounds instantly.
A Sound Designer power tool
A new and powerful Sound Design feature uses AU Plugin to process every single sample, based on an extensive set of modulation sources. The processing happens in the audio path before the loop engine to guarantee perfect looping results.
The most comprehensive set of looping facilities
Looping is one of the most important processes commonly used with samples. Keymap Pro offers a massive set of real-time tools to shape your loops to optimal results, including psychoacoustic-based autoloop search, multiple crossfade modes, bidirectional looping, pre and post loop blending and a set of new 3 DSP Loop processing algorithms, Escher Machine, Penrose Machine and Moebius Machine, dedicated to looping what can’t be looped using traditional crossfades.
A high performance sample editor user interface shows the result of the various processes so that you can see what’s going on, and not just imagine it. Once the desired result is obtained, the processed samples can also be exported as industry standard format sample files, for use in any audio application.
Integrated basic AutoSampler and AutoSampler Live capabilities
Keymap Pro adds basic integrated AutoSampling capabilities to the set of tools you can use to import audio material into its environment. A new interactive AutoSampler Live mode adds another useful workflow by letting you instantly record, cut, trim and map sounds from hardware and software synths just by playing the desired notes on the MIDI keyboard.
Minimum supported system requirements
Apple Intel based Mac computer running Mac OSX 10.5, 10.6 or 10.7. 64bit mode requires OS X 10.6 or 10.7- RAM: 2GB RAM - Disk: 5GB free disk space. The software requires a connection to the internet for authorizing and managing your computers.
Recommended system configuration
OSX 10.7 - Non-integrated GPU - 4GB RAM or more

Integration with Logic and Mainstage
Keymap Pro integrates with Logic and Mainstage so that you can use it as an additional editor for your EXS24 instruments from within the Logic/Mainstage environment without having to load/save files and refresh menus. With this feature, the combination of Logic and Keymap offers the most sophisticated sampling environment ever. You can drag and drop zones and groups from the new internal EXS24 editor in Logic to Keymap. This is also useful for bringing audio regions from the Logic arrange view to Keymap
