Batch Instruments Creator

Creating new instruments has never been so easy. The Batch Instruments Creator in Keymap Pro, lets you create automatically new instruments from samples following different creation rules.

Instrument creation takes two distinct steps. First you add samples to the Batch Instruments Creator samples list by dropping sample files and folders on the big Magic Pad. The Samples list will show you all of the samples you dragged. When you are ready to create the instrument(s), select the samples in the Samples list, set the various parameters at the top of the Batch Instruments Creator, select the Format(s) of destination, and press the Create Instruments button.

You will be asked for a folder in which to create the instruments, and that’s it: the Batch Instruments Creator will automatically create the instruments for you.

Three different creation modes

Instruments can be created automatically in three different modes:

Fill Instrument will use all samples to create a single instrument, the note and velocity parameters let you set which range of the instrument should be filled with samples.

One instrument for sample will force the creation of one instrument for each sample. In this case, you can select the Root, High, and Low notes for the sample in the instrument, and its high to low velocity range.

One Instrument per Folder will create Instruments grouping samples on a ‘per Folder’ basis; if, for example, you drag samples from four different folders, then you’ll have 4 different Instrument whose content will be reflecting one of the folder each.

Loop modes

The Batch Instruments Creator also let you choose how the loops should be created for all the samples:

No loop No loop is created for the zones

Loop from sample file If the sample files contain loop data (start, end), then the loop is set at those settings

Whole sample file The loop is set for all zones to the whole sample. This is useful if the samples are already cut at the right length

Manual The loop is set for all zones to the start and end positions specified in the Loop Start/End parameter boxes.

For all of the loop mode settings, you can set a default loop crossfade and crossfade shape.
